JOFFE Dr. Lyle Steve Joffe. 44, Clincial Psychologist, June 30, ot Burlington, Wt, born Feb. 26, 1953 in Duluth. MN; son of Florence Gurovitsch Joffe and the late Dr. Harold Joffe; husband of Susan, ne Rentschler; brother of Ardene Meshbesher and Maurice Joffe, both of Minneapolis, MM; also nieces, nephews and other relatives. Dr. Joffe obtained his B A. (Summa Cum Laude) at the University of Minnesota. MS In School Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Ph.D. In Child Clinical Psychology with emphasis in early childhood, again at the University of Minnesota. He waa awarded a variety of research grants by various governmental agencies but settled In the Chicago area to engage in clinical practice, first at the Pritzker School of Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center and later, established a group private practice which he has run for the past 15 years. Dr. Joffe has published extensively and Is acknowledged aa an authority in the area of childhood social-emotional development. Dr. Joffe later turned his attention to assisting children caught In the process of divorcing parents and the legal system. He has been instrumental in establishing various case law In the State of Illinois, has lectured to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is viewed as among the top In his field of expertise In the greater Chicago area. He was Instrumental In establishing a child custody evaluation program for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court (County of DuPage, IL) and has worked with the Cook County Office of the Public Guardian to serve the indigent children of Cook County and also with Catholic Charities of Chicago for the same purposes. Dr. Joffe la a member of the American Board of Forensic Examiners, the American Board of Forensic Medicine, the Professional Academy of Custody Evaluators, the National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology and The American Psychological Association to name but a few. Finally, Dr. Joffe has been flattered by a Memorial Fund established in his name by the DuPage County Bar Association so that other indigent children and parents can receive the benefits of divorce education and divorce resolution. It was his final wish that others would continue where he could not and that our children would be the beneficiaries.
