Comment:
I retired in July of 2020. After graduating from the Air Force Academy, where I was also on the hockey team, my Air Force career consisted primarily of flying in the B-52 and as a physics professor at the Academy. After retiring from the Air Force in 1996 I taught high school math, chemistry, and physics for 6 years. In 2002 I returned to the Academy and taught chemistry and physics at the academy's prep school until 2020. I voluntarily returned to acitve duty in 2010 and rejoined the Academy physics department until I "retired" from the Air Force a second time in 2012. From 2010 to 2020 I was also on the Air Force hockey team staff and had a blast traveling with the team, skating at practices and running the line changes during games. In those 10 years we went to the NCAA tournament 4 times, and to the Elite 8 twice. Though retired I'm still on the staff as a volunteeer and tutor the players during the school year.
My wife, Holly, is an avid hiker and through her I caught the bug. In the summer of 2019 I climbed Kilimanjaro with my son. In August of 2020 I hiked the Colorado Trail with a few friends. It's a 500-mile trail with a majority running between 11,000' to 13,000'. We were on the trail for 6 weeks. In the summer of 2021 my Colorado Trail friends did a shorter, 85 mile hike.
Colorado is a vacation destination for many people and I am blessed to live here. If you are ever my way please don't hesitate to stop by and say hi.
